Safety and Sustainable Intelligent System for Railways.
Year: 2025
Type: article
Abstract: Rail transport is one of the most widely used modes of transportation, but it faces challenges such as accidents due to collisions with obstacles on the tracks. Traditional train systems rely heavily on the alertness and reaction time of operators to avoid accidents. However, human error or delayed reactions can lead to catastrophic results. To address this, technological advancements have made it possible to integrate automated systems into train operations. The work explores the use of sensors (such as ultrasonic, infrared, and cameras) to monitor the railway track for obstacles and automatically trigger the braking system. With the development of real-time obstacle detection systems, trains can potentially avoid collisions and reduce the risk of accidents significantly. These systems can operate in all weather conditions and during night time, improving the overall safety of the railway network. This system can be further extended for use in various applications, such as unmanned trains and smart railway systems, contributing to more sustainable and secure transportation in the future.
