Constantine the Great and the Probable Engineering of Christianity as an Imperial System

Year: 2025
Type: article
Abstract: This study analyzes Emperor Constantine I’s transformation of Christianity from a persecuted sect to an imperially endorsed faith. It argues that while Constantine did not alter the biblical text, he systematically engineered the environment in which Scripture was interpreted and practiced. Through patronage, architecture, and political oversight of doctrine, he aligned religion with empire. Drawing on verified historical data and probabilistic inference from his character and strategy, the paper concludes that Constantine’s actions were deliberate measures to secure unity and power.
