Abstract: The vision of Viksit Bharat @2047 envisages India as a developed nation by thecentenary of its independence. The libraries, as repositories of knowledge and facilitators ofinformation dissemination, play a crucial role in this transformation. This paper explores therole of libraries in empowering citizens, enhancing digital literacy, promoting research andinnovation, bridging the knowledge divide, and fostering inclusive growth. It highlightsstrategies for modernization, integration of technology, and policy frameworks necessary toalign libraries with national developmental goals.
