Ground-Based Light Curve Follow-Up Validation Observations of TESS Object of Interest TOI 6347.01

Abstract: The Transiting Exoplanet Survey Satellite (TESS) detected many possible exoplanets by measuring the levels of light of the host stars. The dip in light was a possible transit. Further research was needed to confirm whether or not the transits observed by TESS were real exoplanets. The process performed in this paper aimed to validate whether or not TOI 6347.01 was an actual exoplanet. Our goal was to investigate whether there was a transit at the predicted depth, time, and duration. We used AstroImageJ to perform Multi-aperture Photometry and generate a light curve. We then performed the NEB analysis. We found that there is a dip in relative flux, but it occurs outside of the predicted transit duration, ingress, egress, and depth. Many of the comparison stars also showed the same dip. Our target star was not cleared of being a nearby eclipsing binary.
