Abstract: This presentation, delivered at DataCite Connect Brisbane 2025 by Siobhann McCaffery, Product Manager for Identifier Services at the Australian Research Data Commons (ARDC), provides an update on ARDC’s integration and leadership in persistent identifier (PID) services within Australia. It outlines the ARDC’s mission to provide Australian researchers with a competitive advantage through data and its role as a DataCite Consortium Lead. The presentation covers the National PID Strategy, DOI adoption initiatives, and progress toward national benchmarking and governance frameworks for PIDs. It also highlights ARDC’s delivery of key PID services, including DOI, IGSN, RAiD, and Handle, in alignment with global standards and best practices, supporting Australia’s national research data infrastructure and the broader open science ecosystem.
