Reformation Memory-Work in Late Shakespeare
Year: 2025
Type: article
Abstract: In plays by Shakespeare and Fletcher c.1608-c.1614 there are many strained but creative acts of remembering and forgetting. With particular focus on Cymbeline, The Winter’s Tale, and The Tempest, this essay will situate these moments in relation to developments in tragicomic form, and especially to the dynamics of Reformation memory.
