A Heuristic Perspective on the Riemann Hypothesis through Dynamical Oscillation Patterns

Year: 2025
Type: article
Abstract: The Riemann Hypothesis, proposed by Bernhard Riemann in 1859, conjectures that the non-trivial zeros of the Riemann zeta function lie on the critical line $\Re(s) = \frac{1}{2}$. This hypothesis has profound implications for the distribution of prime numbers and remains one of the central unsolved problems in mathematics (Hilbert 1900). I wonder whether the traditional approach of analyzing the Riemann Hypothesis through analytic continuation by professional mathematicians has actually hindered its proof. Perhaps what is needed is a fresh perspective—approaching the problem using damping functions (divergence functions) and oscillatory functions in the form of composite functions. In this paper, i offer a conceptual survey of approaches to the Riemann Hypothesis, contrasting the traditional analytic-continuation methods with alternative perspectives. In particular, i discuss an author-reflection suggesting that viewing the zeta function through the lens of composite functions involving damping (divergence) and oscillatory components may yield new insights. My aim is to present a broad theoretical framework that might inspire fresh angles on the Riemann Hypothesis.
