Abstract: This research paper provides a comparative study of Ayat al-Ahkam (legal verses) in the Qur’an, analyzing classical Tafsir interpretations by renowned exegetes such as al-Tabari, Ibn Kathir, and al-Qurtubi. It examines the methodologies these scholars used to understand legal injunctions related to family law, inheritance, commerce, and justice, and compares them with contemporary scholarly discussions and applications in modern Muslim societies. The study highlights the relevance and adaptability of Qur’anic legal guidance in addressing contemporary socio-legal challenges, offering a framework that harmonizes classical tradition with modern realities.
