Abstract: This mini-thesis critically evaluates the impact and challenges of campus sustainability initiatives at Noakhali Science and Technology University (NSTU), Bangladesh. The study investigates the level of awareness, participation, and engagement of different stakeholders — including students, faculty, and administrative staff — regarding sustainable practices within the campus. Using a quantitative cross-sectional research design, data were collected through structured questionnaires and analyzed using IBM SPSS software. Findings reveal that although NSTU demonstrates a growing commitment to sustainability, stakeholders’ awareness and participation remain moderately low. Financial limitations, lack of institutional support, and insufficient communication strategies are identified as key challenges. The research emphasizes the importance of localized sustainability initiatives tailored to the specific socio-cultural and economic context of Bangladesh. This paper contributes to the growing body of literature on higher education sustainability by providing empirical evidence from a Bangladeshi university context. It also offers practical recommendations to strengthen NSTU’s sustainability efforts through improved awareness campaigns, inclusive stakeholder participation, and integration of sustainability education into academic curricula.
