Scaly Surface Structure and Free Electrons in Metals: A Closed Surface Interpretation of Conductivity
Year: 2025
Type: conference-paper
Abstract: This paper redefines the concept of free electrons on metallic surfaces through Closed Surface Theory. It proposes that conductivity and reflectivity in metals originate from a continuous scaly structure—composed of overlapping electron layers that act as coherent closed surfaces. Each microscopic unit oscillates in both tangential and normal directions with phase continuity, forming a unified metallic field. When oxidation occurs, this phase coherence is destroyed, causing the closed surface topology to fragment and resulting in loss of electrical conduction and metallic luster. The study bridges quantum electron theory and geometrical topology, presenting a new structural interpretation of metallic behavior.
