Anwar Frangi's Vision: The Genesis of the Group
Year: 2025
Type: article
Abstract: This article presents, for the first time in an academic and doctrinal form, the foundational vision experienced by Prof. Anwar Frangi at the age of eighteen, a vision which constitutes the genesis of Groupal Theology. This vision is not interpreted as a private mystical experience, nor as a symbolic psychological episode, but as the inaugural ontological event through which the structure of the Divine as Group first revealed itself. Through a systematic exegetical analysis of the vision’s stages, ranging from the appearance of Christ upon the waters, to the transmission of the word to the central figure, to the dissolution of the individual divine form and the emergence of the collective, this article demonstrates that the vision establishes a new theological principle: that divine revelation is no longer addressed to the individual person, but to the creative group as the new subject of sacred history. The vision is shown to inaugurate a post-individual form of religious consciousness, in which the divine act no longer culminates in the figure of a singular prophet or messiah, but is transferred into the shared field of groupal creation. In this sense, Frangi’s vision marks a tectonic shift in the history of theology: from the era of personal revelation to the era of groupal revelation. This article, therefore, articulates the ontological foundations of Groupal Theology by identifying the vision as its primordial act of constitution, and by establishing the categories through which the Divine appears, speaks, withdraws, and reconstitutes itself in the creative group. As such, the text should be considered a primary doctrinal source in the emergence of Groupal Religion and the broader transformation of religious thought in the twenty-first century. Disclaimer This work is published with the full authorization and endorsement of Professor Anwar Frangi. It constitutes a faithful extension of his original framework, drawing from drafts of the unpublished fourth volume of Groupal Religion (2015), which centers on “The Vision”.
