The Ontology of Artificial Intelligence: What Does It Mean to Exist Digitally?

Abstract: This paper contributes to the literature by exploring the ontological status of artificial intelligence and proposing a framework for understanding digital existence. It argues that AI introduces a new metaphysical category—synthetic being—where existence is defined by computation, information, and relational presence rather than material substance.
