Abstract: This article explores the nature and function of error in interstate landscapes: the odd and blended spaces where different ecologies meet and mix. It speculates on how a more integrative and generative notion of error may change our thinking around categories and classifications in sociotechnical systems more generally, inviting alternative and more embodied ways of knowing.
