Abstract: This issue of The Bulletin of BISMiS (Volume 8, 2025) marks a renewed connection with the global microbial systematics community after a pause since 2018. It reflects the Society’s milestones, activities, and ongoing commitment to advancing the taxonomy and systematics of microorganisms. The volume includes an editorial reflection, tributes to distinguished leaders of BISMiS, reports from the 5th BISMiS Meeting held in Guangzhou, China (2023), and a preview of the upcoming 6th International Conference on Microbial Systematics and Microbiomics (2025). It also features a scientific perspective on phytoplasma taxonomy and an autobiographical article by Dr. Elizaveta Bonch-Osmolovskaya highlighting a lifetime of research on thermophilic prokaryotes. Collectively, these contributions celebrate leadership, discovery, and the enduring spirit of microbial systematics
