Identicide (Adoption): a neologism to name the institutional destruction of natal identity
Year: 2025
Type: article
Abstract: : Identicide names the destruction of identity through legal‑administrative and cultural practices that sever people from their filiation and name, legitimized by the adoptist apparatus. The paper advances an abolitionist framework connecting baby‑theft, full/closed adoption and coloniality, proposing name restitution, genealogy and memory as reparative justice.
