Data Mapping & ROPA in Private Schools: Building the Information Backbone of Compliance

Abstract: This paper provides a structured approach for Cambridge-accredited private schools in Spain to build and maintain their Records of Processing Activities (ROPA) in accordance with GDPR Article 30 and LOPDGDD 3/2018.It presents a complete data mapping methodology, a sample ROPA matrix, departmental responsibilities, and audit-readiness requirements based on AEPD’s Educational Guidelines.The paper argues that ROPA is not just a compliance artifact but a cultural indicator of transparency and institutional accountability.
