Integration of Technology in Physical Education: Opportunities and Challenges in the Digital Era
Year: 2025
Type: article
Abstract: In the 21st century, technology has become an inseparable part of education, transforming the methods of teaching, learning, and assessment across all disciplines. Physical Education, traditionally rooted in physical participation and face-to-face interaction, is now undergoing a digital transformation through the integration of fitness apps, wearable devices, and virtual training platforms. This research paper explores how technology enhances the effectiveness of Physical Education curricula by promoting engagement, providing personalized feedback, and fostering digital literacy. It also identifies the challenges—digital inequality, teacher readiness, ethical concerns, and resource constraints—that hinder its optimal implementation. By analyzing both opportunities and challenges, this paper aims to provide a balanced understanding of how technology can reshape Physical Education in the digital era.
