Punctual noncommutative Hilbert schemes

Abstract: Punctual noncommutative Hilbert schemes are projective varieties parametrizing finite codimensional left ideals in noncommutative formal power series rings. We determine their motives and intersection cohomology, by constructing affine pavings and small resolutions of singularities.
