Abstract: Industrial Metamorphosis: Convergent Autonomy System (CAS) as the New Engine of Production This research paper investigates the transformative impact of Convergent Autonomy Systems (CAS) on Indian manufacturing. CAS refers to the integration of artificial intelligence (AI), robotics, Internet of Things (IoT), and data analytics to create smart, self-regulating industrial systems. The study analyzes core technologies such as AI-driven predictive maintenance, industrial robotics, and digital twins, and illustrates how CAS enhances production agility, precision, and real-time decision-making. Drawing from expert interviews, government data, and case studies, the paper evaluates both the opportunities — like improved productivity and resource optimization — and the challenges, including job displacement, skill gaps, and cybersecurity threats. Special focus is given to the role of micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in this transformation. The paper calls for an inclusive transition strategy that supports digital adoption, workforce upskilling, and ethical implementation to ensure sustainable industrial advancement in India.
