Design and Performance Analysis of Low-Friction Bearing for Enhanced Mechanical Efficiency
Year: 2025
Type: article
Abstract: Bearings are essential components in rotating machinery, responsible for supporting loads and reducing friction between moving parts. The present study focuses on the design and development of a low-friction bearing aimed at improving mechanical efficiency and service life. Various bearing materials, surface coatings, and lubrication methods were analyzed to minimize energy loss due to friction. Experimental and simulation-based analyses were performed to study temperature rise, wear rate, and load-carrying capacity under different operating conditions. The results indicate that hybrid ceramic bearings and nano-lubricant coatings can significantly reduce friction coefficients and wear compared to conventional steel bearings. This research contributes to the development of more energy-efficient and durable bearing systems suitable for automotive, aerospace, and industrial applications
