Abstract: This presentation, Amplifying Impact with Award DOIs, was delivered by Adam Buttrick, Senior Product Manager for Persistent Identifiers at the California Digital Library (CDL), during the DataCite Annual Meeting in November 2025. It highlights CDL’s role in advancing persistent identifier (PID) infrastructure to enhance research visibility, interoperability, and impact across the University of California system. The presentation focuses on the Research Grants Program Office (RGPO) and its implementation of Award DOIs to unify metadata, improve tracking of funded research, and connect grants with related outputs and organizations. It also outlines CDL’s collaboration with DataCite, workflow design for DOI registration, and future plans for automation and integration with OpenAlex to strengthen funding metadata practices.
