Linguistic Asymmetry Index (LAI): Benchmarking Multilingual Research Infrastructures. Dataset and Reproducible Workflow (v1.0)
Year: 2025
Type: article
Abstract: This deposit contains the harvesting and preprocessing scripts, insfrastructure-specific configuration files, and the derived outputs generated to compute the Linguistic Asymmetry Index (LAI) for four digital research infrastructures (CLARIN ERIC, Europeana, OpenAIRE Graph, and EUDAT/B2FIND). The LAI provides a reproducible, metadata-based measure of linguistic asymmetry across five components: Language Representation Asymmetry, English Anchor Bias, Metadata Completeness Disparity, Institutional Concentration Index, and Access Inequality Index. All metadata used in these computations were obtained exclusively from public APIs and OAI-PMH endpoints. The deposit files support the Discussion Paper currently under review at the Journal of Open Humanities Data.
