Decentralized Document Storage System using IPFS and Blockchain
Year: 2025
Type: article
Abstract: A decentralized document storage system ensures secure, transparent, and tamper-proof digital document management by integrating Blockchain and the InterPlanetary File System (IPFS). IPFS stores encrypted files in a distributed manner, ensuring availability and eliminating single-point failures. Blockchain records document metadata, ownership, and access permissions immutably using smart contracts. This system prevents document forgery, unauthorized modifications, and data breaches. It enables users to upload, store, share, and verify documents securely, making it suitable for education, healthcare, and government sectors. Future improvements can integrate optimized consensus and fast retrieval strategies to further enhance performance.
