Advanced Building Automation Systems: Components, Modern Technologies, and Future Trends
Year: 2025
Type: article
Abstract: Building Management Systems (BMS) are advanced systems used to monitor, control, and optimize building operations such as lighting, heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and security. Modern BMS integrate technologies like IoT, Artificial Intelligence, and Cloud Computing to collect real-time data, improve energy efficiency, and enhance occupant comfort. Components such as sensors, controllers, actuators, and communication networks work together to automate building functions. BMS also supports sustainability by tracking energy, water, and air quality and can integrate with renewable energy sources for eco-friendly operation. The success of a BMS depends on proper installation, compatible components, trained staff, and regular maintenance. By adopting modern technologies and following best practices, BMS provide efficient, secure, and comfortable environments while reducing operational costs and energy consumption.
