Abstract: This paper explores the processes of metaphorization and their linguistic features within contemporary English discourse. Metaphor, as a cognitive and linguistic phenomenon, plays a crucial role in shaping human thought, communication, and culture. By examining various metaphorization mechanisms—such as conceptual metaphor, structural metaphor, and ontological metaphor—this study investigates how metaphors are formed, their syntactic and semantic characteristics, and their pragmatic functions. The analysis draws upon examples from literary texts, media discourse, and everyday communication, highlighting the interplay between cognition, culture, and language. The findings suggest that understanding metaphorization processes enriches linguistic analysis and enhances comprehension of cognitive processes underlying human language use.
