Year: 2025
Type: article
Abstract: This study explores how decentralization of power impacts the empowerment of Scheduled Tribe (ST) women in Beed district, Maharashtra. It examines mechanisms of local governance, participation in decision-making, access to resources, and socio-economic outcomes. Using a mixed-methods approach, the research analyzes institutional structures, women’s leadership trajectories, and community-level changes over time. Findings indicate that decentralized governance can enhance agency, improve service delivery, and foster social inclusion when accompanied by capacity-building, gender-sensitive planning, and accountable institutions.
