Transcending Strategic Inertia Through Architectural Leadership in the Age of AI

Year: 2025
Type: article
Abstract: This working paper argues that modern enterprises suffer from strategic inertia caused by promoting Technicians—masters of “How”—to roles that require Architects—masters of “Why.” It introduces Architectural Leadership as a governance paradigm that replaces incremental optimization with system-level intentionality. The framework enables organizations to shift from operational turbulence to strategic clarity, establishing the cognitive foundations required for AI-enabled transformation.
