A Multi-Domain Design for the New NATO Force Model in the Context of Global Swarm Convergence
Year: 2025
Type: article
Abstract: The Autonomous Robotics Extensible System (AReS) is a multi-domain, networked system-of-systems (SoS) designed to give NATO a decisive algorithmic edge against emerging robotic-swarm threats. By guaranteeing a Time-to-Effect (TTE) , AReS aims to out-pace the People's Liberation Army (PLA)-estimated OODA loop (). The paper presents the system's extensible architecture, a three-tier readiness model, formal stochastic and optimisation formulations, a real-time trajectory planner (Grey-Wolf Optimizer, GWO), and a zero-trust security framework with human-in-the-loop (HITL) safeguards.
