Abstract: The Taxonomic Name Linking Services enables TETTRIs (Transforming European Taxonomy through Training, Research and Innovations) participants to link their services with those of the major, global taxonomic datasets thus aligning multiple datasets to a common, global taxonomic backbone system. The first work area in the project is to develop a common name matching design pattern, that is applicable across multiple projects. This document gives the findings of task 1 of the project, developing a common name matching specification.
