Mental Health ChatBot
Year: 2025
Type: preprint
Abstract: This research paper presents MindEase, an AI-driven Mental Health Chatbot designed to offer accessible, empathetic, and confidential mental health support. The system integrates OpenAI for natural conversational flow, Hugging Face models for emotion and sentiment detection, and Firebase for secure, real-time data storage. MindEase bridges major gaps in current digital mental health tools by combining one-to-one chatbot interactions with mood tracking, progress monitoring, self-reflection logging, and personalized suggestions. The chatbot provides supportive dialogue, test-based assessments, and guided self-help features, while the dashboard visualizes mood trends and user progress. Although it does not replace professional therapy, MindEase serves as an early support tool that encourages self-awareness, emotional reflection, and consistent mental healthcare habits. The project demonstrates promising results in usability, accuracy, and user engagement, offering a scalable foundation for future integration of therapist sessions, advanced analytics, and mobile app expansion.
