Application of the Universal Equation Psi to Stellar Oscillations

Year: 2025
Type: article
Abstract: Stellar oscillations—particularly the classical Cepheid pulsation modes—are reinterpreted within the closed variational framework of the Universal Equation Ψ. Starting from the exact functional derivative of the original Ψ expression, we show that small perturbations around coherent stellar configurations naturally satisfy a harmonic equation δΨ¨+ω2δΨ=0,\ddot{\delta\Psi}+\omega^2\delta\Psi=0,δΨ¨+ω2δΨ=0, where the emergent oscillation frequency is dominated, in the classical-gravitational limit, by ω2≃GMR3.\omega^2 \simeq \frac{GM}{R^3}.ω2≃R3GM. Using typical Cepheid parameters (M≈5M⊙,R≈40R⊙)(M\approx 5M_\odot, R\approx 40R_\odot)(M≈5M⊙,R≈40R⊙), the predicted period P≈7.3P\approx 7.3P≈7.3 days lies fully within the observed 1–50 day range. This demonstrates that stellar oscillations arise as a direct emergent mode of the Universal Equation, without phenomenological assumptions, free parameters, or classical hydrodynamic modelling. The result offers a variational reinterpretation of stellar pulsation physics based solely on the coherent structure of Ψ.
