Mass Partition, The Compton Heartbeat and the 5D Origin of Physics

Abstract: An electron, (proton too) carry split energy designated "m_NE" (Newton/Einstein) and "m_eq" (Electromagnetic), both oscillating (at frequencies closely related to the Compton frequency) such that they are relativistically invariant. This new view of matter proceeds to present a new, coherent and over-arching view of physics. The work begins from an empirical anomaly in the driven response of charged particles: a remarkably flat inertial plateau under harmonic forcing, extending over many decades in frequency. Analysis of this plateau reveals that the effective mass of any charged particle can be written as a universal partition into two components: - m_NE: a neutral, “even” channel associated with gravitational / mechanical inertia.- m_eq: an electromagnetic, “odd” channel associated with curvature and radiation. The ratio (m_eq / m) is not arbitrary but geometric, taking the value 4/(3 pi) for both the electron and the proton. This suggests that the total mass is not fundamental; rather, the two inertia channels are. The paper introduces the ACORN (Alternating Curvature Oscillator with Reciprocal Neutrality), a simple 2×2 inertial coupling between m_NE and m_eq that is power-orthogonal and exactly conserves energy. Solving this system shows that the two channels continuously exchange inertia at a natural angular frequency set by the Compton frequency omega_C = m c^2 / (h/2.Pi). This identifies the “Compton heartbeat” as the defining mechanism of matter: every massive particle behaves as a two-channel curvature oscillator. To keep track of this internal exchange without violating energy conservation, the theory introduces a fifth geometric coordinate T, alongside the usual spacetime coordinates. In this 5D SpaceTime+ framework, real physics lives in (x, y, z, t, T), while familiar 4D spacetime is a projection that hides the internal curvature bookkeeping. Within this picture, relativity emerges from hyperbolic rotation and projection, rather than being postulated, and the long-standing invariance problem of electromagnetic mass is resolved. Finally, the paper proposes a geometric interpretation of Planck’s constant. Over one Compton heartbeat, the electromagnetic channel m_eq(T) accumulates a fixed curvature action, so that h = c^2 ∫ m_eq(T) dT (over one cycle), with a gravitational analogue conjectured from the similar integral of m_NE(T). Taken together, these results suggest that matter is not a point particle or a field excitation, but a 5D two-channel curvature oscillator. The ACORN therefore provides a simple, unified geometric origin for mass, charge, inertia, relativity and quantum behaviour.
