Molecular structure and physicochemical properties of the Cellulose Molecule: Chemical Exploration, Methods, Bibliometric Analysis and Perspectives

Year: 2025
Type: article
Abstract: This report presents an in-depth analysis of cellulose, covering its molecular structure and physicochemical properties, as well as its extraction and modification processes. Traditional methods, such as pulp and paper production, will be discussed alongside recent advances in bioplastics, nanocellulose, and biomedical applications. Special attention will be given to innovative valorization techniques, including dissolution in green solvents and integration into high-performance composite materials. By synthesizing scientific knowledge and practical applications, the report aims to provide a comprehensive overview of cellulose, highlighting its potential as a cornerstone of a sustainable and innovative bioeconomy. A bibliometric analysis is added to show the top countries and authors contributing to this field.
