Year: 2025
Type: article
Study design: Observational Study
Abstract: This study examined the relationship between change in information culture and library users’ satisfaction in Southern Delta University Main Library, Ozoro, Delta State, Nigeria. The study employed the descriptive survey research design and sampled 353 registered library users through simple random sampling. Data were collected using a structured, validated questionnaire and analyzed using descriptive statistics and Spearman Rank Correlation at a 0.05 significance level. Findings indicate that users perceive the library’s information culture as highly supportive of digital adoption, with staff openness, management support, and feedback integration contributing to positive experiences. Notably, the correlation analysis revealed a strong positive and statistically significant relationship (r = 0.9016, p < 0.05) between change in information culture and user satisfaction. This suggests that proactive information management, digital resource promotion, and responsiveness to user feedback significantly enhance satisfaction levels. The study concludes that cultivating a robust and adaptive information culture is pivotal for sustaining user satisfaction in contemporary academic libraries. Implications for library management include prioritizing policies, technological infrastructure, and participatory practices that reinforce an effective and usercentered digital library environment
