Abstract: The age of imperialism unleashed a new way of thinking about the Prussian Eastern Provinces and their inhabitants in the German Empire, based on colonial patterns. Among other intellectuals, Max Weber also propagated a colonial image of Poles in both culturalist and racist categories.
