Waveform monitoring system

Abstract: The Advanced Photon Source (APS) recently completed a significant upgrade to its storage ring, replacing all existing components with new ones. One of the newly introduced systems is the waveform monitoring system. This system is a 2U rackmount chassis with 8 ADC inputs, MRF event link and 16 channels of TTL I/O. This is an FPGA-based 8-channel 4 GS/s digitizer that monitors the decoherence and injection high voltage pulser waveforms. The main function of this system is to qualify each pulse and make a decision on whether to proceed with injection or not. This paper presents in detail the development and features of this system.
