NextGen Voting System: A Secure and Efficient Online Student Voting Framework Using Unique Student Identifiers
Year: 2025
Type: article
Abstract: This survey paper provides an analysis of secure and efficient online voting systems designed specifically for colleges and academic institutions. It examines challenges in traditional paper-based voting, such as manual errors, slow counting, and lack of transparency, and evaluates the need for a modern digital voting solution. The proposed NextGen Voting System uses unique ZPRN-based student identification to prevent duplicate votes, ensure authentication, and enhance fairness. The paper includes literature review, comparative analysis of existing voting technologies, and a conceptual model tailored for college elections. Key components such as student authentication, vote casting, admin control, encryption, and real-time result generation are discussed. The study concludes that a structured online voting framework can significantly improve transparency, speed, and accuracy in academic elections.
