Informational Dark Matter Halos: A Full SPARC Rotation–Curve Analysis of the InfoDM2+ and InfoDM2++ Models
Year: 2025
Type: article
Abstract: This work presents the first full-sample SPARC rotation–curve analysis of the informational dark-matter halo models InfoDM2+ and InfoDM2++, derived from the Informational Gravity (InfoGR) framework. Using all 171 galaxies in the SPARC database and adopting fixed baryonic mass-to-light ratios, we perform a uniform nonlinear least-squares fit and compare the informational halos against the standard Burkert profile. The analysis shows a remarkably consistent trend across all morphological types—from dwarf irregulars and LSB disks to massive spiral galaxies. The extended informational halo InfoDM2++ achieves lower residuals than the Burkert model in 167 out of 171 galaxies, with typical improvements reaching factors of 3–50 in massive spirals. Despite having one additional parameter, InfoDM2++ is strongly favored by information criteria:AIC prefers the informational halo in 142 galaxies, and BIC in 141 galaxies, indicating that the enhanced performance is robust and not the result of overfitting. The functional form of the informational halo naturally combines a central core, a quasi-isothermal intermediate regime, and a Yukawa-type suppression at large radii. This structure emerges directly from informational-field polarization induced by baryonic matter, offering a physical interpretation of dark-matter phenomenology rather than relying on empirical fitting profiles. This preprint includes:• detailed model definitions for InfoDM2+ and InfoDM2++,• full SPARC fitting pipeline and statistical analysis,• χ², AIC, and BIC comparisons for all 171 galaxies,• a complete results table, figures, and mathematical motivation from InfoGR. The results strongly suggest that informational polarization may provide a unified and predictive description of galactic dynamics, offering a physically motivated alternative to conventional dark-matter halo models.
