A Study on Ideal State of the Nomination Committee and the Remuneration Committee: A comparison of Japanese and UK guidelines
Year: 2025
Type: article
Abstract: The nomination committee and the remuneration committee, crucial for enhancing the company s governance, are primarily led by independent directors. These directors play a pivotal role in succession planning and remuneration decision-making.This article delved into the differences in the idealized images of these committees between Japan and the UK, based on the practical guidelines of these two countries, and concluded that an independent director is the mechanism of providing the foundation for swift and decisive decisions through inspecting and supervising, and must not accelerate decision directly.
