Abstract: The EU project SENS4ICE (GA no 824253) developed/ matured technologies for detection and discrimination of supercooled large droplets (SLD) icing conditions, including a hybrid approach combining direct sensing (atmospheric conditions/ ice accretion) with indirect aircraft performance-based detection. Icing wind tunnel and flight test results confirm successful technology demonstration.
