Seksuele synchronie: Seksuele opwinding als een dyadisch proces

Year: 2025
Type: dissertation
Study design: Study Protocol
Abstract: This project will examine the processes that contribute to the experience of sexual intimacy in couples and assess how sexual arousal of both partners unfolds and interacts in a dyadic (research) setting. It will explore possible underlying mechanisms, including the role of (sexual) emotion regulation, perceived partner responsiveness, attachment, and sexual synchrony or co-regulation. The project will include the assessment of individual-and dyad-based variables, using self-report and psychophysiological measures. Several innovative research paradigms and measurement approaches will be explored and developed to study sexual synchrony (as a function of individual and relational characteristics) and how it contributes to sexual intimacy and satisfaction.
