Ragtime: Using Custom GPTs for Teaching Experiential, Project-Based Courses

Abstract: Custom GPTs (or GPTs for short) were introduced by OpenAI at the beginning of November 2023 to enable AI enthusiasts to adapt ChatGPT in their respective domains, by tailoring to specific use cases. In this presentation, we will discuss our tried and tested experiences of adapting OpenAI' s GPT functionality to build a GPT for experiential, project-based courses at a business school. We will show how a GPT can be configured in OpenAI and discuss our experiences and main takeaways from incorporating GPTs in teaching. The audience will have an opportunity to interact with some of our pre-built GPTs to get practical experience with how a student might engage with such technology.
