"Changing worlds": A survey of young people's psychological responses to the climate and pandemic crises
Year: 2023
Type: preprint
Study design: Observational Study
Abstract: The project describes data collected in 2020 as part of the Climate Cares research program at Imperial College London. We conducted an online survey of young people (aged 16-24) in the UK, focusing on the impacts of both the COVID-19 pandemic and climate change, their psychological responses to these crises, their perceived agency, and their perceptions of and hopes for the future. The data were used to produce a series of publications. The first manuscript focusing on a direct comparison in terms of psychological responses to climate change and the COVID-19 pandemic was made publicly available as a preprint in May 2021, and was subsequently published in The Lancet Planetary Health, see: https://doi.org/10.1016/S2542-5196(22)00172-3. A second manuscript focusing on climate distress was submitted to PLOS Global Public Health in January 2023. A preprint of the manuscript is available here, see:
