On the Possible Ontological Formation of Black Holes
Year: 2025
Type: article
Abstract: This essay proposes a speculative ontological interpretation of black hole formation. While standard astrophysics explains black holes through stellar collapse, accretion, and mergers, this work introduces an additional conceptual channel: an ontological formation mechanism in which deeper Unresolved Potential crystallizes into spacetime at sites of local Coherence Disruption. Within this framework, black holes are understood not only as gravitational objects but as compact Coherence Nodes bounded by horizons that function as coherence-preserving interfaces. The essay reframes several persistent conceptual puzzles — the early appearance of supermassive black holes, the breakdown of physical law at singularities, the one-way character of horizons, and the extreme entropy of black holes — as coordinated expressions of a single boundary phenomenon. Rather than replacing astrophysical models, the proposal situates black holes within a layered ontology of law, where physical regularities emerge, strain, and sometimes locally exceed their stability conditions. The work is philosophical in scope, offering no new equations or empirical claims. Its contribution is conceptual: it interprets black holes as boundary-objects through which a universe reveals the conditional structure of its own coherence.
