Year: 2025
Type: article
Abstract: One of the main focuses in the development of Indonesia's human resources is to improve the quality of basic education, especially through strengthening the curriculum and innovating learning methods. The free curriculum allows creativity, flexibility, and strengthening students' character in the learning process, answering global challenges. Previous studies have shown that the curriculum must be changed to adapt to technological advancements, the demands of the 21st century, and the competency needs of the future. In addition, learning English in primary school is very important because it is essential for international communication and access to information around the world (Kusuma, 2015). The literature study method was used in this study to see how the application of the revolving learning model in the classroom can improve students' critical thinking skills in elementary school. By moving the assignments received to a self-study space at home via video or other digital media, research shows that switching classes are a more effective learning method. Time spent in class is allocated for discussion, problem-solving, and group work. This model has been shown to increase student learning independence, strengthen teacher-student interaction, and create more active and student-focused classrooms. Students also gain better skills in asking critical questions, selecting relevant information, and evaluating what they know. Additionally, using rotating classrooms allows students with a variety of skills to engage in different learnings, which makes learning more inclusive and effective. Therefore, this model has great potential to improve a person's critical thinking skills and at the same time support the development of a creative and flexible independent curriculum.
