Recent Advances in Modelling Microscale CMOS-Compatible Electrochemical Oxygen Sensors for Post-Operative Use

Year: 2024
Type: conference-paper
Abstract: Shrinking the electrode dimensions of electrochemical oxygen sensors to the micro- and nanoscale produces worthwhile performance advantages. We have reported micro- and nanoscale electrode systems that are compatible with mainstream microfabrication processes. Informed by in vivo studies designed as a stepping-stone towards human implantation for post-operative monitoring, we report progress on modelling an approach to mitigate the effects of biofouling as a means of increasing the operational stability of these sensors.
