Podiatric profile of athletes after anterior cruciate ligament ligamentoplasty

Abstract: ACL ruptures are on the increase in both professional and amateur athletes. There are no studies directly linking the appearance of the feet to joint injuries, including ACL rupture in sportsmen and women. The large number of anomalies found in our series of patients who have already suffered this injury means that we cannot conclude from the evidence that they are the cause, but opens up the prospect of studies in this direction. In conclusion, a number of studies have highlighted risk factors for this sports injury, whether anatomical, biomechanical, neuromuscular or hormonal. These factors must be taken into account by athletes' medical staff in order to prevent injuries.
