Abstract: This article examines the application of radiopharmaceutical preparations (RFP) in medicine. RFPs are radioactive substances used for the diagnosis and treatment of various diseases. The work analyses the historical development of the field of radiopharmacy, its theoretical foundations, and the methods of production and quality control. In the field of diagnostics, RFPs are examined together with such methods as positron emission tomography (PET) and single photon emission computed tomography (SPECT). The application of RFPs in radiotherapy, for example in the treatment of cancer, is also studied. In conclusion, the current problems and the prospects of development in the field of radiopharmacy are analysed, and the importance of innovations and of adherence to safety standards is emphasized. The work is directed towards demonstrating the significance of RFPs in modern medicine and their potential contribution to the detection and treatment of diseases.
