Year: 2025
Type: article
Abstract: Article Summary This article examines the role of organisational policy in addressing andropause (often referred to as “manopause”) as an equality and wellbeing issue within contemporary workplaces. The scope focuses on human resource practices that recognise age- and health-related changes affecting men and their implications for employment equity. The objective is to outline practical policy measures through which organisations can create supportive and non-discriminatory environments for employees experiencing andropause. Using a practice-oriented, policy analysis approach, the article synthesises existing workplace strategies, including awareness initiatives, flexible work arrangements, health resources, leadership engagement, and monitoring mechanisms. Emphasis is placed on embedding men’s health considerations within broader equality, diversity, and inclusion frameworks. The article is relevant to scholars and practitioners in human resource management, occupational health, and organisational studies, as well as policymakers seeking to integrate health-related life transitions into inclusive employment practices.
