Prediction Note: Stellar-Aligned Angular Anisotropy in Galaxy–Galaxy Lensing

Year: 2025
Type: article
Abstract: This record presents a falsifiable empirical prediction derived from the Wilhoite Geometric Scaling Framework (WST). The prediction states that, for high-ellipticity disk galaxies, the tangential shear measured from background sources will exhibit a coherent angular anisotropy aligned with the stellar major axis, with maximal lensing along the disk plane and suppressed or inverted signal near the minor axis. In standard ΛCDM expectations, such angular dependence is typically suppressed due to halo–disk misalignment, triaxiality, and line-of-sight projection effects, leading to weak or statistically marginal stellar-aligned anisotropy. In contrast, baryon-anchored geometric gravity frameworks such as WST naturally predict lensing morphology that tracks stellar structure, producing enhanced angular alignment. This prediction can be tested using publicly available weak-lensing surveys, including KiDS-1000, DES, Hyper Suprime-Cam, and future LSST data releases, by stacking tangential shear as a function of angle relative to the stellar major axis and performing angle-randomization null tests. Independent verification or falsification of this angular signal provides a clean discriminator between competing gravitational frameworks. The primary framework reference is: https://doi.org/10.5281/zenodo.17973193
